We have a temporary opening for a site location coordinator, the role is to plots new aquaculture positions on charts and to coordinate and assist the project manager in setting up new aquaculture farms.
This role would suit a graduate studying a aquaculture related degree. You must have knowledge of plotting nautical coordinates on charts.

Marine Licenses and Surveys Manager
Overview / Responsibilities
At Green Ocean Farming we are continuing to develop our portfolio of Seaweed and Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture farms around the to coasts of England, Wales and Scotland. We are seeking to recruit an individual passionate about macroalgae and tackling the climate crisis head on through innovation within the aquaculture sector.

Green Ocean farming is an ambitious company who has recently received marine licenses in Portland, Torbay, and Carmarthen Bay to farm kelp via longline systems. We have also applied for a license to farm multiple varieties of shellfish and seaweed species in southwest Scotland.
Further afield we have sites going into Nova Scotia Canada and a restoration and reforestation project off the Lincolnshire coast and in the Indian Ocean.
The individual will lead all aspects of the marine licensing process. This includes pre-application research and stakeholder engagement, regular contact with the licensing authorities during the application review process, and the timely submission of post license reports to relevant statutory bodies. A second key aspect of the role will be to provide detailed desk-based site surveys for clients. Some experience in project management would be adventagious.
A typical working week for this role will consist of the following:
Creating all documents associated with the marine licensing process (Environmental reports, navigational risk assessments, etc) and tailoring them to the areas in which the license is applied for
Communicating with regulatory bodies and other interest groups working within the marine environment
Delivering technical desk-based site surveys for clients interested in applying for a marine license to farm seaweed
Participating in workshops, conferences and other networking events within the shellfish and seaweed aquaculture sector
Regularly keeping up to date with the evolving regulation and scientific data surrounding the seaweed aquaculture industry
Regular contact with your line manager
This role is predominantly work from home anywhere within the United Kingdom.
Skills / Qualifications

A proven record of stakeholder engagement with individuals from a local regional and national level
Experience in delivering environmental assessments with particular focus on habitats regulation assessments
Understanding of the marine regulatory environment within the UK, and how this differs within the devolved administrations.
Strong data management, analysis, and interpretation skills (particularly focussed on GIS software and data)
Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage/deliver several projects at once.
The ability to prepare high quality written technical reports and deliver verbal presentations to a high level of quality assurance for a variety of audiences
Capability to work proactively from home although some travel may be required.
Experience engaging stakeholders within the marine environment
At Green Ocean Farming we also value Qualifications in addition to experience:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject; expected to be in the field of environmental science, marine biology, oceanography, or aquaculture
A postgraduate degree in similar fields would be beneficial but is not essential
